Developed by the Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR), this micro-credential will ensure you bridge the gap between professional practice and the Safe System application. Learn the skills to effectively utilise the Safe System in road safety in your day-to-day role in road infrastructure.

- The principles of the Safe System and how it addresses the ethical imperative of eliminating harm from road crashes.
- Why harm from road crashes occurs and how this harm can be mitigated.
- The mechanisms of harm and practical ways to minimise harm that are associated with the key types of severe injury causing road crashes.
- An overview of road safety infrastructure and its alignment with leading-practice road safety thinking.
- An introduction to the tools that are available to assist in the design and operation of Safe System-aligned road set.

This micro-credential is ideal for:
- Engineers and managers in the public and private sector who are responsible for the management, planning, delivery (design and construction), operations and maintenance of the public road network.
- Professionals who are interested in learning how infrastructure can play a role in reducing harm across the road system.
- Anyone working with road infrastructure wishing to refresh their understanding of the Safe System approach and test they have an adequate level of alignment.
This micro-credential incorporates approximately 7 hours of learning.

Credit, Pathways, CPD Points and Certification
- Participants will receive a soft copy University of Adelaide Certificate of Completion.
- This micro-credential may contribute to earning Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points or credit. Many professional associations accredit CPD at a standard rate of 1 hour of professional development / learning = 1 CPD point. This should be used as a guide only and confirmation should be sought from your accrediting body prior to registration in any PACE micro-credential or program.
