Global Responses to Wellbeing Education provides an introduction to international developments to wellbeing in schools. 

Combing an overview of the field and case studies, you will learn how to support wellbeing in your school. Explore current wellbeing research, how it relates to teacher professional practice, planning and leadership.

Led by Associate Professor Mathew White, you will examine the latest international trends of wellbeing education, explore the strengths and limitations of various approaches to wellbeing education and able to argue a case for wellbeing in a variety of educational settings.

    This micro-credential is suitable for anyone interested in wellbeing in education across the early years, primary, middle, secondary and higher education sector. Designed for practising teachers, leaders of wellbeing in schools and policymakers who want to learn about the latest developments in wellbeing education.

    This micro-credential incorporates approximately 7 hours of learning.

  • Who is your lecturer?

    Associate Professor Mathew WhiteAssociate Professor Mathew White
    Mathew A. White, Ph.D., is Deputy Head of the School of Education and Associate Professor
    of Education at the University of Adelaide. He is also a principal fellow in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne. His publications include Wellbeing and Resilience Education COVID-19 and Its Impact on Education (with Faye McCallum, Routledge, 2021), Critical Perspectives on Teaching, Learning and Leadership: Enhancing Educational Outcomes (with Faye McCallum, Springer, 2020), Future Directions in Wellbeing: Education, Organisations and Policy (with Gavin Slemp and Simon Murray, Springer, 2017) and Evidence-Based Approaches in Positive Education: Implementing a Strategic Framework for Wellbeing in Schools (with Simon Murray, Springer, 2015). In 2020, Mathew was presented the Distinguished Contribution to Research in Educational Leadership Award by the South Australian Branch of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders. He is the President of the International Positive Psychology Association Education Division. Mathew was a secondary school teacher for 20years and has a decade’s senior leadership-level experience in schools.

  • AQF Equivalence, Articulation Pathways CPD Points and Certification

    • Participants will receive a soft copy University of Adelaide Certificate of Completion.
    • This PACE micro-credential may contribute to earning Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points or credit. Many professional associations accredit CPD at a standard rate of 1 hour of professional development / learning = 1 CPD point. This should be used as a guide only and confirmation should be sought from your accrediting body prior to registration in any PACE micro-credential or program.

  • a willingness to participate and engage with the instructor and other micro-credential participants
  • PACE micro-credentials are conducted in English. You are required to meet the University of Adelaide’s Minimum English Language Requirements, of IELTS Level 6.5 in all bands, in order to complete your short micro-credential enrolment.
